As The People’s Forum, our goal is to create the opportunity for community members to engage authentically with ALL candidates running in the district—the chance to see, hear from, and learn about all these candidates so they may make an informed decision at the polls. We feel true transparency in a public forum is of utmost importance to an informed and educated community, as well as a representative that is accountable to the people each seeks to represent.

Along these lines, we would encourage everyone to visit the websites of all of our candidates (included below) to learn more about their campaigns and platforms. EACH ONE offers something unique to the north country, but—perhaps most importantly—it is their desire to engage with all of us, in a forum designed as a truly transparent town hall-style forum, that we most respect. In dialogue, we most certainly will not all agree always; but we do think that we can all agree that a representative willing to speak with us and explain the difficult decisions they make every day is a wonderful start.

So, click on some links below, continue doing research, and bring your questions for the candidates to #ThePeoplesForumNY21 on February 17th! We will be lottery drawing for 30 audience questions during the forum (each question capped at 30 seconds) and, while we can’t guarantee which candidate will be answering your question (candidate to answer each question is randomly selected), all candidates will begin the forum with four “Wild Cards” allowing them +30 seconds to jump in and comment on a question. And, at the end of the forum, you can turn a question card in to us (or several!) with the question you’re seeking more information on (and may not have had the opportunity to ask due to lottery and time limitations); we will offer for each candidate to respond on our Facebook page with responses to these remaining questions (either in writing or in video form). So start formulating those questions and let’s all enjoy the opportunity these candidates have given us to speak directly with them; we certainly are!
