We are excited to officially announce our upcoming congressional candidate forum—The People’s Forum—to be held at SUNY Plattsburgh (E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium in Hawkins Hall) on Saturday, February 17th from 3-5p! We invite you all to “like” our Facebook page and to RSVP to the event as well. Considerable forethought has been given to the design of the question and answer structure of this forum, a forum we have dubbed “A Truly Transparent Town Hall”.

All questions will come directly from audience members—chosen via lottery drawing to ensure proper randomization in audience member selection. Similarly, the candidate selected to answer each question will also be randomly drawn, though still done in such a way as to ensure all candidates in attendance are given equal speaking time in the forum. More precise details, such as the time allotted for each candidate, will be provided closer to the date of the forum as certain details (such as the number of candidates participating) are finalized.

Again, at this truly transparent town hall, questions will NOT be pre-screened or pre-selected in any way. Our mission is to provide a truly engaging, educational, and authentic town hall style format—one that allows our congressional candidates the opportunity to engage directly with the community members each seeks to serve. A straw poll will be conducted and results shared as to which candidate audience members feel would best represent New York’s 21st congressional district in 2018.
